Real feedback from the people making the decisions.

Learn directly from working talent agents, managers, casting directors, directors, producers and other entertainment industry professionals.

Understand what they notice. Hear what actors are rarely told. Make stronger choices in your work and your career.

The feedback gap

You put your work out there all the time.

Actors audition, self-tape, submit, meet agents and managers, and send reels, résumés, headshots and materials into the industry — constantly.

Most of the time, what comes back is:

Yes. No. Or nothing at all.

What actors rarely receive is an explanation. The Actor Shortlist exists to close that gap.

  • What caught someone’s attention — and what didn’t
  • What an agent actually noticed in your materials
  • How a casting director interpreted your tape
  • Whether you seemed professional or unprepared
  • What a director wants when giving an adjustment
  • How a manager evaluates career potential
  • What happens on the other side of the process

Learn from the other side

The people who receive the work explain how they read it.

  • Talent Agents

How submissions are read, what materials communicate, and how representation decisions are actually made.

    Agent Notes
  • Managers

How career potential is evaluated, and what a long-term plan looks like from the management side.

    Manager Notes
  • Casting Directors

What happens after you hit submit, how tapes are watched, and what separates the ones that get a second look.

    Casting Notes
  • Directors

What an adjustment really asks for, and how performance choices land from behind the monitor.

    Director Notes
  • Producers

How projects come together and where actors fit into the decisions above the room.

  • Working Actors

Peers further along the path, on what they wish they had understood earlier.

  • Other Industry Professionals

Publicists, editors, coaches and executives whose work shapes how actors are seen.

What makes this different

This isn’t another acting class.

Actors already have access to acting teachers, technique training and scene study — and they should keep them.

The Actor Shortlist provides something different: the perspective of the people receiving the work.

How it works
An acting class
Teaches you to make the work.
A coach
Prepares you for a specific audition.
A casting site
Sells you access to submissions.
The Actor Shortlist
Shows you how your work and your career are read by the people on the other side.

Real education. Not false promises.

We don’t sell access to jobs. We give actors access to knowledge.

The Actor Shortlist does not sell auditions, jobs, representation, or promises of being discovered. Professionals participate as educators.

Membership does not mean an instructor will consider a member for casting, employment, or representation. What membership gives you is understanding — and that is the part actors are almost never given.

What this is
Education and professional development, taught live by working industry professionals.
What this is not
An audition, a casting service, a submission platform, or a route to representation.
Feedback sessions
Shortlist Review is educational and taught in front of the group. It is not an evaluation for work.

Questions

Before you join.

All questions
Can I cancel?

Any time, from the Skool campus. There is no contract. The Founding rate is held only while a membership remains continuously active — if it lapses, rejoining is at the standard rate.

Is this an acting school?

No. There is no technique curriculum and no scene-study ladder. The Actor Shortlist is professional education taught by the people who receive actors’ work — about how that work and those careers are read from the other side.

Can actors outside Los Angeles participate?

Yes — the membership was designed for it. Everything is online and live, and every session is recorded. Actors in regional markets get the same room as actors in Los Angeles.

Will I receive personal feedback?

Monthly Shortlist Review sessions offer educational feedback, taught in front of the group so everyone learns from each example. Selection is by submission and capacity, so it isn’t guaranteed every month — but the sessions are built so the learning applies whether or not your material is the one being discussed.

Are these auditions?

No. No session is an audition, and nothing submitted inside the membership is a submission to a professional’s office. Professionals participate strictly as educators.
